Well, this isn't far from truth since dozens of Shenzen based factories in China has emerged lately with a tremendously improved versions of the well known Android OS 4.0. (ICS) tablets, some of these are becoming well known brands nowadays with standalone R&D departments of their own (not cloning other brands or models), for instance: SmartQ, Ainol, Onda, Ployer besides others.
In fact, the Chinese companies has it's own Chipsets some are of their own invention like Rockship with a Vivante GC Series GPU and other which are based on the ARM Cortex A8 & A9 like Allwinner A10 ( Manycore Processor : CPU, GPU, AEPU VPU...etc.) with the SGS II Mali 400 GPU & the less popular Amlogic SoC.
Other unique features include Super HD 2160P playback capability through HDMI (exclusive feature), IPS screens (Exclusively found in Ainol Novo 7 Aurora for 7" tablets running ICS android) and most 9.7" tablets similar to that found in iPad for a perfect wide angle viewing, besides the mostly non imitated designs and of course Solely ruining Android 4.0.3 ICS which is still not seen in all of the well known brands of the APad as Samsung, Motorola, HTC and others, and last but not the least : their price range, totally affordable in most competitive cases.
But as usual life isn't complete, there must be a drawback in some aspects of life and so does these Chinese tablets specifically those running ICS, they lack a Bluetooth and mostly the internal 3G connectivity (can accept 3G dongles through OTG usb) , the battery life (speaking of operating hours on Wifi -- it's short) as for the quality; it depends on the Brand (manufacturer) most of the Brands mentioned earlier are ranging from a good to excellent materials and build quality.

I hope i can be able to do some reviews in the near future of some of the best Chinese APads.
Any way i believe that the day for the Chinese dragon to unleash is about to arrive
and i think it will indeed make other Brands not to double but to quad their R&D to beat'em up..!
